Pride and Prejudice

In having just finished Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice I am feeling elated! It's all just so perfect and amusing. I swear Mr. and Mrs. Bennet are exactly like Gra and Pa (my moms parents). They even have the accents and 5 children - although only 4 of which are girls. I am so glad I decided to re-read this book as it's been longer than I can remember. The movie is great too - and I am NOT talking about the newest version of the movie that came out in 2005 with Keira Knightley. I am talking about the BBC's reproduction in 1995 with Colin Firth.
Great novel, honestly timeless.

Did you ever notice?

I love the Harry Potter series.

Lily is a Great Dane that has been blind since a bizarre medical condition required that she have both eyes removed. For the last 5 years, Maddison, another Great Dane, has been her sight. The two are, of course, inseparable.

Success is...?

I did it. I gave up on my environmental science minor. I want to pursue a double majoy in art and philosophy. I did not want to let my Dad down, but I did. He wants me to do more, but I'm not. I feel not good enough. I feel lazy. I feel sad. How can someone feel so sad when they are trying to follow their dream? What am I supposed to do...

Pizza Party

Don't let it be a let down that I enjoyed a cheese pizza for dinner. I watched the surf film Modern Collective while eating and it was extremely enjoyable. Lazy night after a busy day running around campus between professor's offices. I've changed my mind about minoring in environmental science. Not the field I would enjoy going into I've realized after taking only the first two sciences... Ahaa. Maybe a double major in the two most useless fields out there? Art and Philosphy :) The two best fields out there!

That's lunch

Home from ceramics and I'm in a strange mood. Also hungry. So here's what I layer on a plate: blue corn chips, mozarella cheese, spinach, sunflower seeds, marinara pasta sauce, colby jack cheese, spinach, colby jack cheese. Microwave. Mhmmm, you know that's good!

Eggs n such

Tonights dinner consisted of scrambled eggs (cage free) with spinach, cheese, green peppers and tomatoes all between two toasted whole grain bagel slices! And don't forget the ketchupp! Oh mann... Tomorrow I will hit the gym. I've got to look out for the Freshman 15. Oh wait, I'm a Junior... Hmm Junior 15?? Whatever, I'm still going to the gym for some yoga:)

Groceries

Grocery shopping is fun when you are out on your own! I have a local farmers market called Sprouts that is grrreat. Their fruits and veggies are better priced than Walmart! And much better quality. Probably 3/4 of their products are organic and half come gluten free. They have eco-friendly cleaning supplies and recycled paper plates. Their cosmetics and vitamins department is huge! AND for every reusable shopping bag you use at check out you get 5 cents off :) I just spent under $20 grocery shoppinggg.

I am sooo happy!

I MISS MY KITTIES. Yepp. I am a cat lover to the maximum! I really want a cheetah, but ya know... yeahh.

College Living

Ohh what a life. Something new everyday. Living in a new town without knowing anyone is slow at first, but it's picking up now that classes have started. My three roommates are nice though! I'm eating well at least. Tonight for dinner on my college dining menu: Toasted wheat bread with mozarella cheese, baby tomatoes, ketchup, veggie bacon and a Hot Dang grain burger. On the side of that I had blue organic corn chips, garlic and chive hummus from Whole Foods and dark chocolate almond milk. YUMMM!!! :D

Roots

Gra and Pa (Jamaican grandparents) left this past Sunday.  Very sad as I left last Saturday, even if it was for the beach.  Well, one morning I was having breakfast with Pa and he told me the family history of how he had to escape Jamaica before it turned downhill. He had to take his family away from a more than comfortable lifestyle and come to America.  He was hardly allowed any money to take along with is wife and five children.  It was a tough decision at the time, but later it payed off to be the right one as Jamaica crashed. His life advice to me was this: At any time in my life I shouldn't be afraid to make decisions. I can't make a wrong decision because either way it will lead me down a new path that leads who knows where. So don't have regrets, only stick with your decision even if it doesn't seem to pay off. It might not for 15 years or more.  Be happy and have no regrets!

Beach Living

Here I am, sitting at my foreign desk, sipping on a cup of peppermint green tea... In my new apartment at the beach! My window is about 50 feet from the crashing waves and the hot sand. Last night my friend and I had a picnic dinner on the beach under the moon. Oh what a new life that only started yesterday. I do have to admit that I am quite lonely though; only knowing one soul in this beach paradise. I'm sure I'll adjust ;)

Time for change

In less than one week I will be moving away from my home for the last 7 or 8 years.  I will be going to the beach! Living in an apartment about 50 feet from the ocean mannn! I also dreaded my hair about a week ago. It's great!
